Dear guests, from 1st of April 2023, the city of Leipzig will launch a new attempt to charge tourists and travellers for overnight stays under the name of “city tax”. We are absolutely not amused!
This is how the city tax is calculated:
5% of the overnight price per person (without meals) will be charged as an additional city tax. No matter whether tourists or business travellers.
The following are exempt from Leipzig’s city tax:
– Children and young people up to the age of 18.
– Severely disabled persons (from 80%) and their companions.
