How high is the guest tax?
From 01.04.2023, the city of Leipzig will levy a charge, a so-called “guest tax” on overnight stays. 5% of the accommodation price must then be paid in addition to the accommodation price. Exceptions apply to children and young people up to the age of 18. In addition, severely disabled persons + their accompanying persons are exempt. The amount is calculated per person not per room. Breakfast is not part of the accommodation price and therefore does not play a role in the calculation of the guest tax.
Children and teenager up to 18 years, students, trainees up to 25 years and severely handicapped persons + their companions are exempt from the Leipzig guest tax!
**All reservations made after January 1st 2024 will contain the city tax in the booked price**
