Frequently Asked Questions

Can i park my car at th hostel?
You can park in front of the hostel though it costs 70 ct. for 30 minutes from Mon-Sat 8 am – 6 pm. After 6 pm and Sundays all day long you can park for free. Parking is also free in a couple of side streets. If you want to leave the car for a longer period of time we’d recommend to use the covered car park at the Zoo (daily rate 6,50 EUR, about 400 m from the hostel) or the car park Hauptbahnhof West (daily rate 3,50 EUR, 800 m from the hostel). On the eastern side of the main train station there is a bus car park.
How high is the guest tax?
From 01.01.2019 the city of Leipzig will charge a fee “guest tax” on overnight stays. For overnight stays up to 30,00 EUR/person/night 1,00 EUR/person/night have to be paid. From an overnight stay price of 30.01 EUR/person 3.00 EUR/person/night will be charged in addition to the booked overnight stay price. The amount is calculated per person. Breakfast is not part of the accommodation price and therefore no part in the calculation of the guest tax.

Children and teenager up to 18 years, students, trainees up to 25 years and severely handicapped persons + their companions are exempt from the Leipzig guest tax!

Towels are only included in stay in one of our apartments. You can rent a towel for 1 EUR at reception or, even better, bring your own one. Then you save the extra costs.

What is the difference between apartments and standard rooms?
Our apartments are usually not bookable for 1 night. There is a minimum booking of 2 nights, sometimes even 3-5 nights. Towels are included and bed are made up. There are cooking facilities and a TV set. The prices for apartments are fixed prices, there are no discounts for children possible.

Our hostel rooms are cheaper than the apartments but simpler as well. Discounts for children: 0-3 year olds sleep for free, 4-10 year olds pay half the overnight price. Towels are not included. For the first night you would have to pay a one-time fee of 2.50 EUR per person for bed sheets.

There is no age restriction and you don’t need a youth hostel membership card. We<are not a common youth hostel (Jugendherberge). We are an accommodation for travelers, families, city and weekend trippers, groups, school classes, sports teams, business travelers, backpackers and culturati.
