Das Theater der Jungen Welt in Leipzig startet am 10. September die neue Spielzeit 2010/2011. Unter dem wohlklingenden Namen "Herzklopfen" dreht sich dabei in dieser Saison alles ums Thema Herz. Zum Auftakt gibt es am Freitag Abend die Hip Hop Dance Performance Battle of the Hearts aus Amsterdam mit anschließender Party.

Am 28. August brechen wieder "Bessere Zeiten" an. Auf der Festwiese vorm Zentralstadion (nunja, mittlerweile heisst das wohl Red-Bull-Arena) geben ab 14 Uhr 10 Bands ihr Bestes. Dabei gibt es einen bunten Mix auf die Ohren: Death Metal, Indierock, Punk, Ska, Techno...

Gegründet wurde das Festival vor 5 Jahren, um v.a. jungen Leipziger Bands eine Bühne und ein williges Publikum zu geben. Dieses Jahr haben sich auch 2 Dresdner und eine Hallenser Band auf die beschwerliche Reise nach Leipzig begeben.

The Leipzig Tourist Information moved to a new location, the newly built "Katharinum" at Katharinenstrasse 8, right in the middle of town. Just as before it will be possible to gain all sorts of information concerning Leipzig, to book tickets for sightseeing tours and guided walks or to reserve a room in one of the city's accommodations (preferably a bed with us). The busses for the tours will still leave from the old location opposite the main station.

New location this year! But the Highfield Festival proved to be a recipe for a great music, a sleepless weekend and the closest you get to feel like a groupie after listening to the 6th band in a row.

For the first time the festival takes place at Störmthaler See near Großpösna near Leipzig from Aug 20th-22nd. We name just a couple of bands from the lineup: Blink 182, Placebo, Madsen, Fettes Brot, Billy Talent, Monster Magnet, Bela B. y Los Helmstedt and our favourites Karamelo Santo from Argentina. Yep, it would be awesome to have a ticket...

Hostel life

Well, I've roamed the world over many a day,

And a hostel's the place I generally stay.

Now there's some things about them that's always the same,

It's a world-wide conspiracy, that's what I claim.

Then turns on the lights 'cause he cannot see.

He smells like a pub, and he's usually drunk,

Leipzig mag an keinem großen Fluss liegen, aber ist eine echte Wasserstadt. Über 300 Brücken, ein Hafen, zahlreiche Seen und natürliche und künstliche Wasserstrassen schlängeln sich durch die Stadt und ihre Parks. Für alle großen und kleinen Wasserratten findet in Leipzig jeden Sommer das Wasserfest statt.

You don't need to be a big thinker to know that THINK? is an awesome way to spend a Sunday. Great DJs and artists, electro and techno sounds, one hell of a location (Nordstrand beach at Cospudener See), maybe some sun (who knows?) and crazy people dancing on the beach, in the water, on each other...

Der August bietet für die Leipziger Kino-Liebhaber gleich zwei leckere Häppchen: in der Galerie KUB laufen vom 12. bis 19. August die Surrealistic Summer Films und die Schaubühne Lindenfels zeigt den ganzen August lang Animationsfilme, darunter Klassiker wie "Mickey Mouse", Biographien á la "Persepolis" oder die Kurzfilmreihe "One Minute Fly".
